After 10 years of silence, I finally reconciled with my brother

I never thought I would write something like this. My brother and I had a terrible falling out over our mother care 10 years ago. He thought I was not doing enough while I was working two jobs to pay her medical bills. We said horrible things to each other. Last year our sister convinced us to try family mediation. I was skeptical but desperate. The mediator helped us actually listen to each other for the first time. I learned he felt abandoned and scared. He learned I was drowning in debt trying to help.
